HYROX time calculator: pace and splits

Enter a target finish time and get the run pace per km and a split for each of the eight stations, based on the median split profile from hundreds of thousands of race results. Or enter your own run pace and station times to predict your finish. Typical median finishes are about 1:28 for Open Men and 1:36 for Open Women.

1. Plan splits for a target time

Type your goal finish time, like 1:30:00 or 95 (minutes).

2. Predict your finish from your numbers

Enter your expected average HYROX run pace and your time for each station (mm:ss). The boxes start at median times, so change the ones you know.

Usually 30–60s/km slower than your fresh 5 km pace.

Estimates for planning only. Race-day conditions, venue layout and Roxzone length vary.

How the calculator works

A HYROX race is 8 × 1 km runs, each followed by one functional station, always in the same order. Analyses of hundreds of thousands of public results show a consistent shape: about 45% of the time is running, about 47% is the stations, and about 8% is the Roxzone. The planner scales that median profile to your target time. The predictor simply adds up your own numbers.

Example: for a 1:30:00 target, the plan is about 5:25 per km running, skierg 4:51, sled push 3:07, sled pull 5:28, burpee broad jumps 5:53, row 5:10, farmers carry 2:16, sandbag lunges 5:21, wall balls 6:57, and about 7:39 in the Roxzone.

HYROX weights by division

Sled weights include the sled. Doubles use the same weights as the matching category, split between two athletes.

Where most people lose time

  • Wall balls and burpee broad jumps vary the most between athletes. Strength-endurance here is the biggest lever for most people.
  • Going out too fast. The first run feels easy. Later runs are usually slower, so pace the first two conservatively.
  • The Roxzone. Seven-plus minutes of walking between stations is common. Moving with purpose is free time.
  • Strength that fades under fatigue. This is where a calisthenics base helps. See how I coach HYROX.

Questions people ask

What is a good HYROX time?

Median finish times are roughly 1:28 for Open Men and 1:36 for Open Women. Finishing under 1:30 in Open is a solid first race for most men, and under 1:40 for most women. Elite athletes finish in under an hour.

What is a good HYROX time for a beginner?

For a first race, simply finishing strong is the goal. Most first-timers in Open finish somewhere between about 1:30 and 2:00. Use the calculator to set a realistic target from your current fitness, not someone else's.

How much of a HYROX race is running?

About 45% of a typical finish time is the 8 km of running, about 47% is the eight stations, and roughly 8% is the Roxzone, the transition area between the runs and stations.

Is there a HYROX race in Malaysia?

Yes. The first HYROX race in Malaysia, HYROX Kuala Lumpur, is scheduled for December 2026 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur. Check hyrox.com for confirmed dates and divisions.

Do Doubles use lighter weights?

No. Doubles partners split the station work but use the full weights for their category, and both partners run every kilometre together.
